Idea Development

Idea Development

One of The Idea Tree’s favorite areas of work is taking the seed of an idea and helping to grow it into a complete plan for action. If you have an idea, or know you want to work on a certain issue, but aren’t sure where to take it or how to bring it into reality, we can help you with researching different options, identifying a target audience, assessing funding options, and innovate ways to maximize your impact. For us this process is a partnership and we work with individuals and groups very directly to develop ideas, including a free initial consultation via Skype or in-person.

We have created innovative projects from the ground up in the past. Ms. Ferguson’s work with Transition Cambridge included an original gardening project known as Growing Spaces, which was designed to take small pieces of neglected land throughout the city and turn it into community gardens and edible landscaping.

The Idea Tree was also involved in the development process of the Sea Shepherd Conservation Society’s sucessful dream project application to the Dutch Postcode Lottery. The Idea Tree partner Dr. Teale Phelps Bondaroff was the lead author of the grant application and worked with Sea Shepherd on the process for over a year. This involved multiple applications, carefully developing rationale, and background research in a wide range of areas, including marine conservation, international law, and maritime engineering and ship design.
