Social Media Strategy and Training

Social media is such a key component of communications today that it deserves a strategic approach, so organizations can make the most out of the efforts put into creating and managing their accounts on various platforms. Creating a unique social media strategy for your organization is one of The Idea Tree’s specialties. Having a social media strategy ensures that each post, tweet, pin, or upload advances a strategic goal, not just showing activity on various platforms. It also allows organizations to track the usefulness of social media and where your efforts are having the most impact for your organization and your cause.

Everyone has a different level of familiarity with various platforms, and there are dozens of hidden tricks that are associated with using accounts in a professional way, such as using insights and analytics, which typically are not available or relevant with personal accounts. Whether you’re a staff member that needs to learn Twitter from scratch, or want to train volunteers to manage a Facebook page, we can create example content, a written guide for staff and volunteers, or conduct an in-person training session.

Ms. Ferguson is The Idea Tree’s social media specialist. She has managed social media accounts as a part of outreach and communication roles with several organizations, and has acted as The Black Fish’s International Facebook Page Manager and General Social Media Strategist since late 2013. As part of that position she co-authored a social media strategy for all of The Black Fish’s social media accounts, as well as a comprehensive management guide for volunteers. She also manages The Idea Tree’s Twitter account (follow us @IdeasOnTrees).
